The English Channel is one of the busiest shipping channels in the world, and therefore the Rampion team was mindful of the potential navigation risks associated with locating a windfarm within these waters.

Rampion is located more than two kilometres away from the Traffic Separation Scheme, and is sited well away from the main shipping channels.

Through close cooperation with Trinity House, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Civil Aviation Authority, Rampion has ensured that the wind farm structures have the appropriate markings and lighting to aid safe navigation around the site.

During construction, regular Notices to Mariners and Weekly Notices of Operations were issued to sea users, keeping them informed of the ongoing activities at site.
