Onshore construction

Works along the onshore cable route, at the Brooklands construction compound and on the new substation were divided into 12 stages for ease of reference during construction.

Public Rights of Way

As part of our construction planning, we consulted with users of the Public Rights of Way (PRoW) tracks along the cable route, to ensure that works requiring closures be communicated in a clear and helpful way. During the construction works we have crossed 32 Public Rights of Way and for each of these looked to minimise closures, and provide suitable temporary diversions where necessary.

Due to the flexibility in the construction programme, we have not been able to give specific dates of closures significantly in advance of construction. However, signage has been posted on the routes 14 days before any anticipated closures due to works, and more detailed information posted 5 days before the closure.

The table below will be updated with advanced warning of any PRoW closures as well as information about the planned works and construction activity progress.

These two diagrams below show examples of how a closed and an open Public Right of Way would be configured.
