Street Food

The arrival of the Rampion team in Newhaven Port has created opportunities for businesses not normally associated with offshore wind energy, demonstrating the ripple effect of such a high profile construction project.

Rampion Offshore Wind Street Food

Street Food, a local Newhaven catering business, has played a highly appreciated role in the project by providing buffet food for team members and visitors attending events, meetings and special occasions held at the construction base.

Jackie King, Owner of Street Food said:

When I first started my business, it was mostly daily deliveries of fresh sandwiches and cake to businesses around the port area, including to the small Rampion team sited in three porta-cabins.

But as the Rampion presence has increased, with more buildings, staff and contractors, my business has grown and changed so that now I am regularly providing catering for meetings and events at the site.

While I mostly work alone, I do have help from other people as needed and this has increased over the past two years. I source my products locally and provide fresh sandwiches, cakes and other baked goods to not only Rampion, but now, thanks to word-of-mouth recommendations from them, to other companies on the Newhaven Port site as well.
