Rampion Offshore Wind Farm is now generating enough green electricity to power the equivalent of around 350,000 UK homes. This is equal to almost half of the homes in Sussex.
The wind farm comprises 116 turbines on a 70 square kilometre site located between 13 and 20 kilometres off the Sussex coast in the English Channel.
The south coast’s first offshore wind farm.
The Visitor Centre is an exciting and interactive educational experience for children and adults of all ages.
The fund was launched in 2017 to provide financial support to worthwhile local community projects. It is being independently managed by the Sussex Community Foundation.
Rampion has become a local landmark with links to communities throughout the south coast. Find out more about how Rampion has worked in the community so far.
Prior to construction a full suite of environmental surveys was undertaken. Bird, fish and ecology surveys, archaeology, navigational and socio-economic surveys, and traffic impacts assessments were all carried out to establish a baseline.
