HGVs to deliver topsoil for cable route reinstatement
Topsoil deliveries along St. Paul’s Avenue, Lancing, that had to be postponed twice earlier due to weather and wet conditions are now scheduled to start next week (the week beginning Monday 30 April, 2018).
First planned to take place in December 2017 and January 2018, the delivery of topsoil by heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) will be to the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm cable route site in Brooklands Pleasure Park, adjacent to St Pauls Avenue.
The topsoil is required to level off the cable route trench in preparation for the re-planting of grass and vegetation as part of the final stage of the wind farm project, the reinstatement of the land.
The works plan will comprise approximately 15 vehicle deliveries along St Paul’s Avenue each day for eight days (Monday to Friday only) between 0800 and 1630. Signs will be posted to notify people of parking restrictions that will be in place along the south side of the road for the duration of the works. These restrictions are to ensure there is space for the HGVs to pass by.
Rampion’s contractors will work to keep disruption to a minimum but the project team apologises in advance if any inconvenience is caused. A street sweeper will be on call throughout each of the working days to sweep as necessary, keeping St Paul’s Avenue and the surrounding streets free from soil.
For any queries about the works please call the Rampion helpline: 01273 516996 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
