Major facelift for Shoreham Beach gateway

Rampion Offshore Wind Major facelift for Shoreham Beach gateway

Rampion will fund a much-needed facelift to the Ferry Road entrance to Shoreham Beach through its sponsorship of the redevelopment of this prime passageway to the beach.

Rampion’s support will include funds to redesign and upgrade the walkway that forms the final part of the link between the Shoreham pedestrian bridge and Shoreham Beach. The works will include landscaping and planting, a bicycle rack, and signage, to create an impressive new public gateway. Rampion will also provide a free-to-use telescope enabling people to view the wind farm from the shore.

At present the walkway is overgrown and unkempt and as the prime entrance to the beach, is ripe for the redevelopment. The work will aim to ensure beachgoers have a positive welcome as they arrive at the beach, with a view of the wind farm straight ahead.

The work will be coordinated by the Parks Department of Adur & Worthing District Council and will include consultations and involvement of all the relevant community groups with an interest in the beach and local area.
