Rampion supports ‘biggest ever’ Worthing & Adur Eco Summit
Rampion Offshore Wind Farm has sponsored the 11th Eco, Young and Engaged (E.Y.E.) Project Eco Summit, held at Worthing High School, for around 325 pupils from 27 schools across Worthing, Adur, Arun and the surrounding areas.
The theme of the day was ‘Getting Back to Nature’, and Rampion’s involvement has encouraged children across the Sussex area to learn about renewable energy and to do more to protect the environment.
The event was opened by the E.Y.E. project founder, Tim Loughton MP. Rampion team members were present to educate the enthusiastic students, who were aged between 6 and 15, about the Rampion project, renewable energy and the science behind how a wind turbine works. Michael Edwards delivered a presentation to the packed hall in the afternoon, retelling the story of Rampion’s construction.
Headteacher from Worthing High School said, “The E.Y.E Project allows students from secondary and primary schools to tackle very challenging environmental issues, with a view that this will make a change in all our lives. The event was made possible with the support of Patron Tim Loughton MP and this year’s event sponsors Rampion Offshore Wind Farm.”
