3rd / 5th Lancing Sea Scout Group £7,500.00 The aim of the group is to promote the development of young people between aged between 6yrs – 18+, Funding was provided to repair and refit their  Sail Training Vessel (STV).

 

Brighton & Hove Food Partnership £5,000.00 Brighton & Hove food partnership are a hub for information, inspiration and connection around food. They help people learn to cook, grow food, eat a healthy diet and waste less. They prioritise work with vulnerable adults and people experiencing deprivation, isolation, poor health and other life challenges. They make lasting changes which improve lives.

 

Brighton and Hove’s Wildlife Forum – House Sparrows Project £1,500.00 Purchase of Nest Boxes and Seed packs/ bird food

 

Brighton Permaculture £1,400.00 Brighton Permaculture Trust promote sustainability, biodiversity and community cohesion and run courses in horticulture, fruit growing, sustainable design and building, plant community/school orchards, manage 6 small organic orchards, provide opportunities for volunteers, collect unwanted local fruit and make fruit juices. The grant will enhance, develop and sustain Racehill Community Orchard.

 

Campaign to Protect Rural England, Sussex Branch CIO £4,700.00 CPRE Sussex is the local branch of the charity, Campaign to Protect Rural England. Their aim is to promote, protect and preserve our Sussex countryside; to ensure better understanding and connectivity between our countryside and its towns and villages; and, to support environmental improvements to countryside, towns and villages. This funding is to increase the number of trees in selected locations.

 

Cowfold Memorial Swimming Pool Fund/Friends of St Peters School £7,900.00 The grant will support the replacement of a boiler for an energy efficient air source heat pump for the Cowfold Memorial Community Pool.

 

Cycall Ltd CIC £7,500.00 CYCALL provides adapted cycling equipment for adults and children who are unable to use a standard bike due to age, disability or illness such as Dementia. The grant will be used to buy a specially adapted Side by Side Trike.

 

East Beach Artist Collective £5,000.00 Funding will support the Worthing Light Festival.

 

Lewes Road for Clean Air £5,000.00 Lewes Road for Clean Air project work to help people shift toward sustainable forms of transport along the Lewes Road corridor focusing on enabling more people to cycle.

 

Littlehampton Sea Cadets (TS Sussex) £38,400.00 Sea Cadets Corps, is a charity that promotes the development of young people in achieving their physical,intellectual and social potential as individuals and as responsible citizens by the provision of education and leisure activities, using a nautical theme. Littlehamton has 34 Cadets, aged 10 to 18. The grant will be used to build a new jetty to aid all users to access the water at all times and tides

 

One Church Brighton £7,000.00 One Church are developing innovative growing methods to fulfill three main objectives – to support the development of Rock Farm in nature conservation, biodiversity and food production, to support a range of disadvantages, including worklessness and homelessness by providing volunteering, training and therapeutic work sessions on a weekly basis, and to support food distribution which in turn will make the farm more sustainable.

 

Ropetackle Arts Centre £5,000.00 Ropetackle will deliver Seas, Shoots & Shores a new STEAM project developed in partnership with Photoworks using photography and creative learning to explore issues around marine conservation with schools in Shoreham, Lancing, Worthing and Steyning and their communities.

 

Sail Boat Project CIC £7,000.00 Sail Boat Project CIC are a Brighton based community sailing school widening access to the sea through sail training, open to the public and community groups, increasing confidence and wellbeing. They also work within the Sail Cargo Alliance to bring food products that can’t be produced in the UK to Sussex by sea.

 

Shoreham Wordfest £5,000.00 Shoreham wordfest’s aim is to promote literature, arts and education through an annual autumn festival of words and ideas, featuring authors, drama, poetry, song and discussion.  Working in partnership with Ropetackle Arts Centre, they are organising an Environmental Sustainability weekend, as part of Wordfest 2019.

 

South Downs Leisure £2,500.00  The grant will contribute to the GreenDreams community festival, encompassing a wide range of environmentally friendly groups and activities. Activities include recycling initiatives, conservation workshops, wildlife experiences, Tai Chi, Yoga and much more.

 

St James’ Trust (Seaford) Ltd £6,000.00 The grant will support in the purchase eco-friendly cladding to minimise heat loss and assist in reduced energy costs, and to support environmental sustainability in the maintenance and management of their community centre.

 

The Future is Unwritten £5,000.00 Funding will support the production of an adventurous sci-fi comedy that uses theatrical invention and humour to inspire action in our responses to climate change.

 

World Cetacean Alliance £10,000.00  Funding will support the WCA to create a sightings network and database for Sussex marine life, with a particular focus on cetacean species

 

WORTHING THUNDER CIC (known as Worthing Thunder Basketball Club) £5,000.00 Funding will support the delivery of coaching and participation in basketball to disabled groups within the area, who otherwise would not be able to participate in the sport due to lack of opportunity and financial disadvantage.
